Arthur Frederick Mace
August 20, 1934 – February 19, 2018

Arthur Frederick Mace passed away February 19, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas at the age of 83. He was born August 20, 1934 at Fort Monmoth, New Jersey, to Major General Ralph R. Mace and Virginia May Mace. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Mace; his son, R. Allen Mace; daughter-in-law Veronica “Ronnie” Mace; and grandniece Danielle Romero of Comfort, Texas.

Art graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, class of 1958. He was also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was a colonel in the U.S. Army until retirement in 1981. He was awarded various medals in the service including two Bronze Stars in Korea and Vietnam. While at West Point he was a member of the golf team. Golf was his passion and he continued to play until near the end of his life.

Art was laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors on March 20, 2018. A Visitation will be held April 6, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home.
