Obituary for Ronald "Ron" Paul Walker

Ronald "Ron" Paul Walker, age 64 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017 after passing away suddenly from natural causes at home. He was the beloved husband of Kerri and devoted father of Kyle who was also Ron’s best friend and fishing partner. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Louis, and mother, Eunice Mae Walker. He is survived by siblings, Barbara Hughes (husband Ed), James Walker Sr. (wife Kathie), Mary Eastman (husband Craig), along with many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his father and mother-in law, James and Patricia Gooden; brother-in-law, Barry Gooden (wife Liza); and dear friends who have been witness to Ron’s incredible legacy of laughter and love!
Ron was born September 6, 1953, in New Orleans, LA into a family whose roots run deep in Pascagoula, MS. He came to San Antonio as a young man when his father was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. His father retired from the Army and ultimately Ron and his siblings settled in the area.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Ron went on to work in the food industry where he was a salesman for most of his years in the industry. But Ron had other ambitions to own his own business and in 2004, he started his own house painting company called “Ron’s Ready to Roll”. He had a real talent for painting as well as a desire to deliver “perfection”, but most importantly he enjoyed making others happy!
Ron loved the outdoors and as a result he and his family moved to the country side north of Boerne, TX in 2005, only a few minutes away from the Guadalupe River. Ron, Kerri and Kyle spent many enjoyable days together out hunting, fishing, and working on the land.
Ron embraced his southern roots and his favorite family gathering became a crawfish boil which he hosted each spring for all of his family at his home in Boerne. Ron loved to cook, spending much of his spare time preparing delicious dishes every day. Ron also cooked for every family gathering and he always came with a homemade and delicious contribution, especially his infamous Jalapeno Cheese Balls!
From his family and friends to his painting customers, anyone who ever met Ron even once knew of his sense of humor. He was quick with wit and could make anybody laugh, no matter what. Through the course of his life, Ron Paul Walker impacted so many people with this humor but mostly he shared his love. He leaves a legacy that will not soon be forgotten!
