Obituary for T. Brooks "Butch" Wood, Jr.

Butch Wood passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters, Wednesday, January 17, 2018. He was born to Jewell Florena Cheatham and T. Brooks Wood in San Antonio, TX on December 10, 1947. He spent most of his career working at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. He married Bertha Bolom in 1977 and they had two daughters, Brooke and Brittany.
Butch was an avid gearhead with a love for hotrods and fast cars. He had a grand personality with infinite wisdom and filled a room with genuine heartfelt laughter and smiles. The hotrod he was known for building was named Ol’ Ugly. He believed nothing was impossible to achieve if you are willing to put in the hard work.
Butch was preceded in death by both parents, and his sister, Shirley Ann Wood. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; his daughters, Brooke and her husband Steven Lucio of New Braunfels, TX, Brittany and her husband Jim Bonson of San Antonio, TX; and five grandchildren, Lauryn, Kaytlynn, Kayley, Annabelle, and James. He is also survived by his brother, Bennett and his wife, Joyce Wood of Sugarland, TX; his nephew Bennett Wood Jr. and wife Paige Roberts of Saint Claire, PA, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and countless friends.
A Remembrance Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. To leave condolences for the family, please visit www.ebensberger-fisher.com and select Obituaries.
