Obituary for Travis Preston Wilcox

Travis Preston Wilcox, 84 went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2017 at his home in Boerne, Texas. He was born on August 7, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to Mary Lucille Wilcox and Tony Wilcox.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Wilcox; his daughter Sue Robards (Clay) of Grey Forest , and sons, Tony (Debbie) Wilcox of Boerne, Texas, Mark (Shelly) Wilcox of Waring, Texas and Mike (Elizabeth) Wilcox of Rockport, Texas; ten grandchildren, Amy (Brandon) Raymond, Travis Doherty, Kelly Doherty, Holly (Kyle) Bryant, Jennifer (Ross) Wright, Stephanie Wilcox (Tony Berndt), Travis P. Wilcox, Cody Robards, Caleb Wilcox, Dalton Treiber; nine great-grandchildren, Maverick Lenz, Kayleigh, Owen and Noah Raymond, Max, Amit and Skylar Doherty, Brycen Berndt and Leta Bryant. Travis was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ina Wilcox Vanos; his granddaughter and grandson Shannon and Wes Lenz, brother-in-law Johnny Bilicek, his nephew Richard Bilicek and father and mother-in-law John and Lucy Bilicek. His extended family includes many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Travis enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 16. He was a building and painting contractor, and restored his mother's historical home and the Topperwein home that he shared with his wife until his death.
He was an avid fisherman and spent many weekends fishing at the Gulf Coast with his wife and children. His love of fishing is a legacy that has been handed down to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Travis will be remembered for the wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather that he was, and the joy he expressed when he was with them.
Travis was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Boerne, Texas. A special thank you to all of the people who cared for Travis and showed him love and kindness.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 202 W. Kronkosky St., Boerne, Texas 78006 with Fr. Norm Ermis officiating.
