Wayne Lester Dietrich (82) born in St. Louis, MO on Nov. 25, 1935 passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 28, 2018 in Boerne, TX. Proceded in death by his loving spouse, Karen(Drant, Bruner) Dietrich, his parents Les and Martha (Wallenbrock) Dietrich, his brother Jack Dietrich, and nephew, Chad Baker. Survived by the mother of his 4 children, Patti (Herrman, Dietrich) Bruns. Loving father of Tanya (Dietrich) Peters, Ray (Angela) Dietrich, Todd (Angi) Dietrich, and Rob (Rhonda) Dietrich; treasured grandfather of Ray Dietrich Jr., Ryan (Amanda) Dietrich, Anthony (Carolyn) Dietrich, Clint (Yumiko Tanaka) Peters, Grant (Amber) Peters, Justin Dietrich, Robbie Dietrich, Alex Dietrich, Robyn Dietrich, and Chase Dietrich. Great-grandfather of 8. Stepfather of Chris (Dee Dee) Bruner and Tracy (Jeff Cheney) Bruner. Step grandfather of 4. Step great-grandfather of 8. Dear brother of Donna (Larry) Smith and Glen (Joy) Dietrich. Beloved friend of many. Wayne graduated from Maplewood Richmond Heights High School in 1953 where he excelled in academics and football. He attended Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo on a football scholarship. He was a member of Immanuel Luthern Church in Olivette, Mo where he was very active for many years. Wayne also devoted a lot of time to fundraising activities for the University City Lions Club in St. Louis. Wayne was Vice President of Dietrich & Sons, a brick contracting business in St. Louis, for most of his adult life. Later with Karen, his wife, he became co-owner for 16 years of the Blockhouse Saloon on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis, Mo. He enjoyed keeping up with his favorite professional sports teams: the St. Louis Cardinals, former St. Louis Cardinals football team, St. Louis Blues, and the San Antonio Spurs. Wayne also participated on several of his sons’ little league football and baseball teams. Some of his favorite and memorable hobbies were boating, fishing, and waterskiing with friends and family on his 18-foot Mark Twain, inboard/outboard boat. Cremation and video tribute will be arranged by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, TX at A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Louis, MO.
