Hazel Sinclair de Rivera
July 9, 1928 – September 28, 2017

Hazel Sinclair de Rivera was born to Ralph H. Sinclair and Susana Barrantes in Rio Grande, Nicaragua on July 9th, 1928. She peacefully left this earth on September 28, 2017. At the time of her passing Hazel was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel loved the great State of Texas, country music and family above all things. Hazel had a zest for life. She was a no nonsense woman who compassionately cared for her family and friends alike. She was an amazing cook and dressmaker. Her contagious laughter and quick wit were well known by all who knew and loved her, not only in her native Nicaragua, but also in her Texas community. The staff of Riverview Nursing Home loved her for her quick come backs and unwavering ways of telling them what to do, where to go, and how to get there fast both in English and Spanish.
She is survived by three daughters, Annette Robinson and husband Larry of Boerne, Gryska Villanueva and husband Luis of Rosharon, TX, and Susan Rivera of Richmond, TX; two sons, Justo P. Rivera and wife Claudia of Richmond, TX and William O. Rivera and wife Claribel of San Diego, California; ten grandchildren, Gloria and Gabriel Robinson, Maritza and Vanesa Rivera, Gonzalo, Hazel, and Justo Garcia, Agnieska Villanueva, Clarisa and Jose Adan Rivera; five great grandchildren, Brianna Tolbert and Domenic Maryland, Mateo and Andres Pape, and Rosie Rivera; four sisters, Leila Beck of Los Angeles, CA, Graciela Thompson of Las Vegas, NE, Julieta Sinclair of Katy, TX, and Wanda Sinclair of Anchorage, AK; three brothers, Ralph Sinclair of Mexico City, Carlen Sinclair of Bluefields, Nicaragua, and Adolfo Sinclair of Miami, FL; six nephews and six nieces, and countless friends. Hazel is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Jose Adan Rivera; her son, Jose Adan Rivera Sinclair and one brother, Eldridge Sinclair.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, Texas. A funeral will take place in her native Nicaragua in January 2018.
