Joseph H. Craigo
August 15, 1928 – April 29, 2018

Joseph H. Craigo, of San Antonio, TX, died April 29, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio, in 1928; the son of the late Wilma and Joseph Craigo. Joe graduated from Newcomerstown High School, served in the US Army at the end of WWII, and was married to Mary Jane (Janie) Schwindt for 59 years.
Joe was employed by General Electric for over 30 years. He held a variety of positions in manufacturing and sales until he retired in the late 80’s. He and Janie then moved to Avon Park, Florida, where they developed numerous friendships and enjoyed many rounds of golf. They were members of Avon Park First Presbyterian Church. In addition to golfing, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and watching beautiful sunsets from the patio of their lakeside home.
Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Janie; his sister, Thelma Craigo and his son, Michael Craigo. He is survived by his sister, Norma Slack (OH), three daughters: Deborah Felix (MA), Pamela Vining and her husband, Tom (OK), Beth Richards and her husband, Dave (TX), four grandchildren: Brad Felix, Amanda Vining, James Richards, Joseph Richards, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe will be remembered for his love of life, his quick wit, friendliness, and generosity. He will be buried in Ohio at a later date.
