He married Johnnie Ellen Buchanan on December 20th, 1969 in San Antonio. Stanley was a successful entrepreneur involved in the establishment and administration of numerous businesses. This includes the innovative formation of a computerized medical billing company called Comtrol Corporation, which was later purchased by American Physicians Services Group (APS), where he served as President and CEO. After moving to Boerne in 1976, he became a member of the Boerne Bass Masters Fishing Club and the Boerne Turnverein. He also served on the Kendall County Junior Livestock Board of Directors. Stanley became a believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at a young age and stood firm on his Faith the remainder of his life. Other hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, calf-roping, raising Short-horn cattle, story-telling, and spending time with friends at the local coffee shop. He served the community as a Little League Baseball Coach for many years.
Stanley will always be remembered for his ability to easily make friends, genuine care for others, an amazing sense of humor, infectious smile, and hearty laugh. He was admired for his willingness to stand up for what was right, and for his uncompromising sense of integrity.
